For Leaders, Attitude Comes First

“Attitude, to me, is more important than the facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people may think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home… I am convinced that life is ten percent of what happens to me and ninety percent of how I react to it. And so it is with you.”

Charles Swindell (as quoted in Living an Extraordinary Life)

Thanks to all you “took the hint” and purchased my book during the past week from my website or through Kindle!  I appreciate the interest in my work and especially the many almost instant expressions of pleasure with their purchase.

One of those communications mentioned the quote above.  I chose it because it (1) talks about the choice we have to control and express our attitude; and (2) the last sentence is such a concise way of communicating the power of taking 100% personal responsibility for our reactions to the events of our lives.

Sometimes … and it’s why I look for these brief expressions of how to live our best life … simple words can convey incredible personal and professional value.

Happy Springtime to my readers in the Northern Hemisphere – and I’m saying this from Colorado where we’ve had over 12” (30 cm) of snow during the past week!

Comments are welcome!
