I Am So Very Thankful
Tuesday November 20, 2012
Sometimes our light goes out
but is blown again into flame
by an encounter with another human being.
Each of us owes the deepest thanks
to those who have rekindled this inner light.
~ Albert Schweitzer
Several years ago I changed my daily prayers to be exclusively ones of gratitude; not of requests. Perhaps it is therefore no surprise that the U.S. holiday of Thanksgiving is my favorite – a reminder of the many blessings in my life.
Among those blessings is the opportunity to interact with YOU, the reader of this little missive now in its fifth year of weekly offerings. Please accept my deep appreciation for your participation and support . I’m grateful for your comments and suggestions, your expressions of gratitude and even your “constructive criticism.”
I’m especially grateful to the people in my life who “rekindle this inner light” … because sometimes I forget that it is there.
One expression of gratitude that is important to me is supporting the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless and specifically to their commitment to getting families with children back into permanent housing. If you’d like to join me in supporting their worthwhile work – either “just cause I care” or as a gesture of support for me and these weekly efforts to provoke positive thought … just send a check to me at 5200 S. Ulster St. Ste 1109, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 or e mail me: [email protected] ... and I’ll send instructions how to use PayPal to donate with a credit card.
Happy Thanksgiving!
