Our Purpose In Life Is To Continue On the Journey, Not To Complete It

Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable.”

                                                   -Sydney J. Harris

I’ve had this belief for as long as I can remember that at some point the work I’ve done on myself would end because I’d be some kind of complete, enlightened soul.

The joke, of course, is on me.

Recently I’ve been aware that I have some regrets “hanging around” in my consciousness. Objectively I know that it’s a choice and I’m making one that ultimately doesn’t work for me and the future I want to create.  I’m now aware, taking responsibility and communicating about this truly dysfunctional “way of being.”  Stay tuned for progress reports!

Sydney Harris has the right idea.  Like I said, I’m newly committed to cleaning myself up in this regard.  It is Spring after all – time for a good Spring Cleaning.

How about you? Questions and comments are welcome here.

With love and respect,
